Count

Counting my blessings this week:

  • Having patience.
  • A beautiful little boy.
  • A wonderful husband.
  • Having money for food.
  • Beautiful weather.
  • Wonderful friends.
  • Lots of laughs, including giggles from our little boy.
  • Singing in the church choir.
  • Playing hand bells.
  • Hugs from our little boy.
  • Some quiet time for me.

As the rest of the week goes on, I’m sure I’ll find plenty more things to be thankful for.

May everyone have many blessings throughout their days!

Forgot

So…I had this really good idea of what I wanted to blog about for this post.  I’m sitting down to type it, and I cannot remember what it was.  I’ve sat here for five minutes and it is just not coming to me!  I guess it will just be a really short post.  I’m sure it will come to me once I have things ready to publish.  That’s usually how it works, at least for me anyway.

Busyness

Yesterday we had a hugely busy day.  In the morning, I had to go to the bank and correct an error and go to physical therapy.  Once we got home (the little one was in tow), we had lunch and the little boy fell asleep.  During his nap I did my walk, cleaned, a load of laundry and dishes while he napped.

The afternoon was just as busy:

  • Dropping off a bill.
  • Signing up our little boy for swimming lessons.
  • Going to the post office.
  • Stopping at the church.
  • Going grocery shopping (three different stores).

I had a very cranky boy when we finally got home.

I don’t normally do all of that stuff in one day.  Unfortunately, things needed to be done.  The rest of the week is almost as busy, but I’m hoping to get our wading pool up tomorrow and spend some time playing in the water with our little boy!

Back to Walking

I love to walk.  It’s been a nice bonding time for not only me and my little man, but with my husband as well.  It’s nice when we’re home together to take a family walk.

Of course walking has had so many other benefits for me.  It’s helping to lower my cholesterol, gets me out in the sun for some extra vitamin D and is helping me to get back into shape and lose weight.

My weight loss efforts have been at somewhat at a standstill since I ended up with my pinched nerve/carpal tunnel/shoulder pain.  I was able to keep walking though.  Yesterday I started walking with my DVD again which helps me to use all of my muscles.  It was really refreshing.  I also took a walk with the little boy to spend some time outside.

We Need Routine

**A Happy Belated Mother’s Day to all of the Moms out there!**

My little boy and I need to get back into our routine after last week.  Visiting my family is wonderful but does have its disadvantages, mainly a change from our normal routine.  It’s definitely worth every second!

Our little boy is having a hard time taking naps (he just fights until he can’t fight any more) and sleeping by himself at night.  Saturday night, my hubby sat with him from about 4:30 until 6, just so our little one would sleep and I could be coherent for church.  It was still a long night for all of us.

So, today we are getting back on our sleep schedule!  And the rest of the week we’ll work on the rest of the schedule.  You know, snacks, playing, reading, the library, and the other things we normally do during the week.
